Michael Gonzalez

President and Managing Member

Michael Gonzalez founded ENG Contracting in 2026 and serves as its President and Managing Member. He owns and controls the company, directs its strategy and day-to-day management, and is responsible for its contracts and its relationships with owners and trade partners.

Michael brings more than twenty years of leadership in construction, government contracting, and healthcare facility operations. He founded and led two South Texas construction companies over thirteen years: Reconco LLC, a commercial construction firm that self-performed site work, utilities, paving, concrete, and demolition and supported federally funded disaster relief rebuilding after Hurricanes Dolly and Ike, and Sparrowhawk Government Contracting, a government construction contractor he led from 2016 until winding it down in 2026 to devote himself fully to ENG.

Before construction, Michael held hospital operations leadership roles in environmental services, safety, and security, as Assistant Director across three South Texas Health System hospitals and as Director at Rio Grande Valley Regional Hospital, where he built a fifty-person in-house department from the ground up. That experience in infection control, life safety, and the daily operations of an occupied medical facility is the foundation of ENG's health and medical practice.

Michael served in the United States Marine Corps from 1998 to 2001 as a non-commissioned officer with the 24th Marine Expeditionary Unit (Special Operations Capable), where he led a deployed detachment and supported the unit's rapid response planning. He holds a Master of Science in Public Administration from the University of Texas Rio Grande Valley and a Bachelor of Arts in Political Science from the University of Texas Pan American.

Michael directs ENG's pursuit of federal, State of Texas, and public-sector facility work and personally approves the safety plan and phasing plan for every project the company takes on.

A letter from the president

Veterans keep their word to one another. ENG Contracting was formed to keep one commitment in particular: that the facilities where veterans receive care are maintained, repaired, and renewed by people who take that mission personally.

A VA medical center does not close for construction. Clinics stay open, patients keep their appointments, and the work has to happen around them, quietly and safely and on schedule. That is the work ENG was built to do. Facility support and repair, renovation and modernization, and building systems, delivered as one team with the engineering and facility staff who know their buildings best.

We are a new company and we say so plainly. What we bring is disciplined execution, a Texas subcontractor and supplier network we are qualifying on performance, and a leadership that answers the phone. If your facility has deferred work that needs a contractor who shows up prepared and stays until it is finished, I would like to hear from you.
